Date Completed: May 2016

What is often times overlooked and underappreciated for its purpose and function in society, markets are the hallmark of trade and commerce both financially and socially. In a city as diverse as Beijing, modern shopping environments have taken over and the traditional market is being pushed aside taking with it alot of the cultures and sub-cultures that have been apart of the urban fabric for so long. This proposal takes into account the need for a modern iteration of a 'wet market' and the many other factors that that need to be considered for a modern urban dweller and their lifestyles embracing technology and context.
